Water wettable mixed-mode SPE – polymeric sorbent containing quaternary ammonium as a strong anion exchanger attached to the phenyl group of the divinyl benzene-based polymer sorbent. Independent from the pH of the SPE solvent, the SAX sorbent will always be positively charged.

Mixed mode SPE to extract weak acids. Elution from the SAX sorbent with formic acid in methanol.
Formic acid as a strong acid will be able to re-place the weak acid from the mixed mode SAX sorbent.
